Betty J. Osborne

Betty J. (Cummins) Osborne, 78 of Cayuga, passed away at 1:36 pm on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at her home. She was born November 27, 1944, in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of James D. and Lillian G. (Proll) Cummins. She married Lewis Dowayne Osborne on September 28, 1963, in Cayuga, IN. He survives. She was preceded in death by their youngest child, Bobbie Lynn Osborne-Schriever on February 8, 2011; her parents, James D. and Lillian G. Cummins; older brother, James F. Cummins; younger brother, David E. Cummins; younger sister, Carol S. Brown; and brothers-in-law, Mikel Kiger and Larry Johnson; her husband's parents, Donald and Bonnie Osborne; his stepparents Cortez and Faye Woody; his grandparents, Harley and Mary E. Davis and Frank and Janie Woody. She is survived by daughter, Bonnie L. Coleman of Indianapolis, IN.; one granddaughter, Alissa (Nick) Garnett, currently serving in the USAF; three sisters, Mary (Terry) Badger of Covington, JoAnn (William) Peterson, and Ellen Johnson of Cayuga; brother, John Cummins; sisters-in-law Terry Cummins of Elizabethton, TN, and Gretalee Kiger of Perrysville, IN; step- sister-in-law, Jannie Tate, half brother-in-law, Gary Gibson and many nieces and nephews. Betty retired from Digital Communications, Inc. of Danville, IL, as their bookkeeper and office manager from September 1985 to February 2010. There will be no services, Betty requested cremation. She will be laid to rest in Thomas Cemetery. Bettys family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice of Wabash Valley for their superior care and support of Betty.
