Betty Hutts Flaurr

Gatesville, Texas -- Betty Hutts Flaurr, 82, of Gatesville and formerly of the Tangier, Indiana area, passed away at 10:50 a.m. CDT Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at The Meadows Nursing Home in Gatesville after a long battle with bone cancer. She was born April 19, 1927 in Humrick, Illinois, the daughter of the late William McKinley and Lucy Ellen Trosper Loveall. She first married Hansel L. Hutts. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1987. She later married Ralph Flaurr. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Emily Jean (Jess) Freeman of Gatesville, Texas; one son, William LeRoy Hutts of Tangier, Indiana; Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Ashby of Tilton, Illinois and Lucy Mae Bailey of Rockville, Indiana; one brother, Leo Loveall of Covington, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn Sue McCurry and Rita Mae Shew; one son, Robert Wayne Hutts; three sisters and two brothers. Betty enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and reading. Graveside services and burial: 1 p.m. EDT Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Miller Cemetery in Lodi, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. John Bigger. There will be no visitation. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
