Betty Demoss

Betty Louise (Denney) DeMoss, 80, of Danville went home to be with the Lord at 12:10 pm on Friday, July 31, 2009, at North Logan Healthcare Center. She was born January 12, 1929, the daughter of Hazel (Nixon) and Roscoe Denney. On April 26, 1947, she married her childhood sweetheart, Jesse Wilson DeMoss. After 54 wonderful years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 2001. Betty is survived by two daughters, Judy Rudnicke and Jacque (Barry) Wood, of Danville; two sons, Jesse Dean (Nancy) DeMoss of Danville, and Jerry (Judy) DeMoss of Bolingbrook. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Brian (Tinah) Rudnicke of Rantoul, Kevin Andrews of Danville, Penny (David) Nephew of Crawfordsville, Julie Rudnicke of Chicago, Jamie (Julie) Lazzell of Oceans Springs, MS, Emily DeMoss, Lydia DeMoss, Madelyn DeMoss all of Bolingbrook, and nine great grand-children. Other survivors include one sister, Patty (Gene) Jones of Danville and three brothers George Denney and Daniel (Carol) Denney both of Arizona, Clifford (Paulette) Denney of Aurora, and sister-in-law, Shirley Denney of Danville. Her parents, two sisters, Barbara Boyer and Shirley Browning, and six brothers Bill, Ed, Bob, Jack, Joe, and Jim preceded her in death. Bettys life verses in Psalm 121 were exemplified by her service and dedication to the Lord, her family, and Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardener, and especially a grandmother. At the church, she worked youth programs and activities for many years and was well known for her talents of cooking and baking. A Celebration of Bettys Life will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Rev. Allan Rudie and Rev. Peter Wright officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
