GEORGETOWN- Betty Cornwell, 83, of Georgetown, passed away at 4:55pm on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at the Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, Ill. Betty was born on September 4, 1924, in Georgetown, the daughter of Raymond and Pauline Grider Stephenson. Both deceased On September 5, 1942, Betty married Robert Bob Cornwell in St. Charles, MO. He survives along with their four children; Gary Cornwell of Olivet, Ill, Penny Starwalt of Georgetown, Paula (Rick) Roach of Georgetown, and Chris (Mark) Kingrey of Cayuga, IN. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Lori (Jerry) Tuggle of Indianola, Brian (Lori) Starwalt of Georgetown, Chad (Melissa) Roach of Georgetown, John Roach of Georgetown, Neil Roach of Georgetown, Seth Cornwell of Olivet, Corey (Marcie) Bowers of Danville, Reece Cornwell of Olivet, Samantha Kingrey of Cayuga, IN, Matthew Kingrey, of Cayuga, IN, her 12 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and one great -great grandchild due in June, her brother; Jerry (Norma) Stephenson, of Georgetown, and two sisters; Sandy Erp of North Carolina, and Helen (Harold) Haworth of Georgetown. One brother and one granddaughter precede Betty in death. Betty was a member of the Georgetown Methodist Church, and the Georgetown Womens Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, fishing, mushroom hunting, and spending time with her family. A celebration of life service for Betty Cornwell is scheduled for 12:00pm on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home located at 200 E. West St in Georgetown. Officiating will be Pastor James Blue. Final resting place will be at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
