Danville - Betty Lorraine Campbell, 92, of Danville passed away April 22, 2014 at Hawthorne Inn, Nursing Home in Danville, IL. She was born March 28, 1922 in Danville, IL, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Cunningham) Badewitz. Betty married John Austin Campbell on March 19, 1944. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Badewitz; husband, John Campbell; a son, Michael Lee Campbell. She is survived by one sister; Beverly Hines; two sons, Stephen (Nicki) Campbell and Alan (Karen) Campbell; grandchildren Shannon (David) Covar, Stephanie (Chris) Yates, Erin (Stephen) Craike, Josh (Amanda) Campbell and Casey Campbell; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brody, Evan, Logan Yates; Brooklyn and Austin Campbell, Xander Covar and Marcus Craike. Betty served as a secretary at Bismarck-Henning Community Unit District #1 and as the District Treasurer for 38 years until her retirement at age 80, in 2002. Betty enjoyed NASCAR, playing Euchre with different groups of friends and received several certifications recognizing her countless hours of volunteer work at local hospitals, meals-on-wheels and her church. The family would like to thank the Garden Court Staff at Hawthorne Inn for their kind care. A celebration of Bettys life will be held at 3:00pm Saturday April 26, 2014 at Second Church of Christ in Danville with Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be held 1:00-3:00pm at the church. Burial will take place at Walnut Corner Cemetery. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville, has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made in Bettys name to Walnut Corner Cemetery Association, Darryl Moss, Treasurer, 24866 N. 1800 E. Road, Danville, IL 61834.
