Betty Boyer

Betty Lou Boyer Betty L. Boyer, 69, of Danville, passed away at 6:38 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2006, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. She was born on August 31, 1936, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of William Nixon and Flossie Marie (Coon) Nixon. Betty married James Boyer on December 24, 1955 at Westside Church of the Nazarene in Danville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1987. Survivors include one daughter; Sharon K. (Lester) Winters of Danville, Illinois; two sisters, Shirley (Fred) Winters of Overton, Texas and Susie (George) Freed of Danville, Illinois. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Nixon; and two sisters, Delores McCord and infant sister, Alice Nixon. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed singing karaoke, crossword puzzles and most importantly, spending time with her beloved family. A celebration of Bettys life will be held at Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Chapel, 3550 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, Illinois, at 2 p.m., on Friday, August 11, 2006, with Pastor Bishop William Caruthers Sr. officiating. Burial will be held at Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2006, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Bettys honor to the Blessed Hope Church of God Worship Center.
