Betty Blanche Burroughs

Newport, Ind. - Betty Blanche Burroughs, 83, of Newport, passed away at 3:15 a.m. EDT Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Union Hospital Clinton in Clinton, Indiana. Betty was born May 20, 1931 in Riley, Indiana the daughter of the late Alonso Simeon and Nora Blanche Heck Carpenter. She married Norman Lee "Ick" Burroughs on December 24, 1947 in Newport, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2007. Survivors include three daughters, Ramona Lee (Paul) Trover of Dana, Indiana; Rita Jo (Michael) Hall of Newport, Indiana and Robin Ann Utley of San Marcos, Texas; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and playing bingo. Betty very much enjoyed her many cats.
