Betty Bange, 90, of Rossville, formerly of Ridge Farm, passed away at 3:55am, Friday, May 11, 2018, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on November 5, 1927 at home in St. Joseph, IL, the daughter of Glenn Felix and Ellen Marie {Feely} McCarty. She married Virgil Bange on July 1, 1944 in Fort Wayne, IN. They lived and farmed in Ridge Farm, IL. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1987. She is survived by: her brother, Warren (Vera) McCarty of Savoy; her brother-in-law, Ron (LaDonna) Bange of Savoy; her daughters, Joyce (the late Perry) Marshall of Seabrook, TX, Paulette (Steve) Nance of Chrisman, IL and Brenda (Steve) Judy of Rossville, IL; her two grandsons, Bryan (Neeka) Marshall of Santa Fe, TX and Chris (Claudine) Marshall of Cypress, TX; her granddaughters, Betsy (Tony) Rodems of Tolono, IL and RaeAnn (Rob) Webster of Rossville; her step grandson, Nate (Krista) Judy of Mackinaw, IL; and her step granddaughter, Hannah Judy of Potomac, IL. Betty was Grammy to 11 great grandchildren, Johnathan, Chelsey, Sammy, Marcela, Whitney, Jackson, Ty, Graysen, Paige, Peyton, and Piper; and 4 step great grandchildren, Kyra, Hayden, Huxley, and Stayler; her 4 great-great grandchildren, Isaiha, Wiley, Casen, and Paisley. Betty would say, "They make the world go around!" Besides her husband of 43 years, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Martin McCarty, and his wife, Evelyn; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Alfred "Bud" and Ura Bange; three sisters-in-law, Delores Bogan, Phyllis Ault, Velma Lammers and her husband, Erwin; her son-in-law, Perry Marshall; grandson, Craig Nance; and great grandson, Johnathan Marshall. As a mother of 3 daughters, her sewing machine was always humming as she sewed many of the girls; and their dolls clothes. She continued sewing for her granddaughters and their dolls. If she wasn't' sewing, she was cooking meals for Virgil and his farm help. Betty enjoyed bowling, walking, Euchre Club nights, and reading. Sending cards to family and friends was always a delight and a priority to Betty. She was a member of the Ridge Farm United Methodist Church and then transferred her membership to Rossville United Methodist Church. When Betty moved to Rossville in 2008, she joined the Red Hats Society. Most mornings you could find her at the local restaurant enjoying coffee with a great group of gals! A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Matt Stump officiating. Visitation will be held 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm.
