Betty Arlene Kilgore

Danville - Betty Arlene Kilgore, 92, of Danville passed away at 2:33 am on Saturday November 11, 2017 at North Logan Health Care in Danville, IL. Betty was born on December 9, 1924 the daughter of Arley and Lillian (Reinke) Huffman in Danville, IL. She married Joseph R. Kilgore on November 14, 1947 in Marshall, IL and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1987 Survivors include one daughter, Linda Briscoe of Champaign, IL, two sister-in-laws, Betty Huffman of Hoopeston, IL and Doris Huffman, Peoria, IL five grandchildren, Tyler Kilgore of Danville, IL, Brandon Kilgore of Dallas, TX, Christina (Zachary) Marquez of Cissna Park, IL, Colin (Jamie) Bricoe of Celina, TX and Todd Briscoe of Los Angeles, CA, nine great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph, one son, Gregory Kilgore and one daughter, Carol Bates, as well as five brothers, Leo, Ray, Ralph, Dale and Richard Huffman. Betty was a member of Central Christian Church in Danville. She worked for many years at the Department of Rehabilitation Services in Danville. In her free time she enjoyed singing, especially at weddings in her younger days, reading Almanacs and informational texts, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed being outdoors in nature and when able, liked to hike, garden and take long walks. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
