Betty A. Haas

Betty A. Haas, 92, of Danville passed away at 1:16pm on December 2, 2019. She was born in Westville, IL on January 19, 1927 the daughter of John W. and Frances L. Dudley. On November 12, 1950 Betty married the love of her life, Robert B. Haas, and they spent 62 years together before his passing on June 28, 2013.

Betty is survived by her sons, Robert (Vickie) Haas Jr. of Lincoln, IL, Ron (Diana) Dudley of Simsbury, CT; daughter, Alice (Bob) Breitzman of Mesa, AZ; eight grandchildren, Christopher Haas, Stefanie Ginder, Natalie Haas, Lara (Pat) Ward, Randy (Amy) Breitzman, Tim (Lesley) Breitzman, Greg (Sarah) Breitzman, Eric (Melanie) Dudley; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Sr. and Frances; husband, Robert; brother, James Dudley, John (Jiggs) Dudley; sister, Beulah Moore; grandson, Jeremy Simmers and nephews, Donald Dudley and John W. Dudley.

Betty graduated from Bismarck High School before attending St. Elizabeth School of Nursing where she graduated in 1948 as a Registered Nurse. She worked for 35 years at the Veterans Hospital in Danville. While working she was supervisor of surgery and later worked in the nursing home care unit. Betty attended the Second Church of Christ for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and crafting.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 10am at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. Minister Dale DeNeal will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Bettys name to the Second Church of Christ in Danville.
