Bettina Guge, 62, of Westville, passed away at 11:33pm, Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, after a short battle with cancer which she fought all the way. She was born on April 12, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of Larry and Betty {House} Drown. On December 9, 2000, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, William Guge. He will miss her dearly.

She will also be missed by: her children, Edwin Michael Mike Wheeler, Leora (Bill) Bailey, Randy (Lindsay) Wheeler, Latasha (Brian) Draper, Erin (Sean) Walden, Natasha Bailey, William (Shaley) Guge, Justin (Kayla) Guge, Sierra Guge, & Amber Guge; her brothers, Larry Drown, Tim (Brenda) Drown, John (Laura) Drown, & Jason (Elizbeth) Drown; her sisters, Terrina Powell & Tonja (Dave) Upham; her grandchildren, Mikey, Billy, Randy, Cheyanne, Keira, Madison, Wyatt, Ava, Hunter, Hailey, Hayden, Alexa, Makayla, Trinity, Gracey, Skyler, Zander, Lilly Bell, Lexis, Braedyn, Traelynn, Xander, Ivan, Noah, & Payslie; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother, Ronny Drown; her nephew, Timmy Drown; and her brother-in-law, Dennis Powell.

Bettina was known to enjoy antiques and collecting costume jewelry after playing with her grandmothers jewelry when she was a little. She also enjoyed managing many restaurants, bingo, playing slot machines, and going to flea markets. She loved mushroom hunting, fishing, camping, and family gatherings. She was a great cook and enjoyed hosting many Sunday brunches for family and extended families. Bettina enjoyed watching Cooking Shows and was always trying out new recipes. She never knew a stranger and had an open-door policy. Bettina would help anyone she could and raised many kids but was a "mother" to many more. She absolutely cherished her children and grandchildren and loved her family above all else. She will be eternal missed by those whose lives she touched. Bettina was the matron and the strength that her family looked to and the glue that kept them together.

A celebration of Bettinas life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, December 7, 2018, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Carle Cancer Center Champaign or Colon Cancer Research.
