Bertha M. Leftwitch, 92, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Colonial Manor. She was born on December 24, 1926 the daughter of Earl and Violet (Masters) Johnson. They precede her in death.

Also preceding Bertha in death include her husband, Frank Leftwitch; seven brothers, Harlan Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Ivan Johnson, James Johnson, Donald Johnson, Gene Johnson, Lloyd Johnson; and three sisters, Eva Johnson, Betty Hart, and Marie Cotton.

Bertha leaves behind two sons, Richard Anders and Leland (Bekie) Cronkite; one daughter, Diana (Ladd) Grimes; three step-sons, Bill (Pam) Leftwitch, Danny (Margaret) Leftwitch, and Frankie (Cindy) Leftwitch; seven grandchildren, Todd (Kimberley) Dalle, Misty (William) Soler, Crystal Cooley, Stephanie Smith, Jaret Rupert, Michael Moryer, and Darrin Cronkite; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Bertha was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and Christian. She attended South Side Church of the Nazarene and attended Life Church for many years. Bertha was an avid shopper and loved going to the mall to walk with friends. During her free time, she loved laughing and being with her sisters, Marie and Betty. She also loved spending time with her lifelong friend, Mona Denny, who was like a sister to her. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at The Assembly Church at 428 N Walnut St in Danville, IL 61832. Officiating will be Pastor Ryan Harris. Burial will be at a later date in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
