Bertha Mae Ashley

Bertha Mae Ashley, 83, of Danville passed away at 4:30pm Friday march 24, 2006 at North Logan Healthcare Center. Bertha was born January 7, 1923, in Danville, the daughter of the late Harmon and Nettie Maude (Miller) Callaway. She married Everett (Jim) Ashley on September 1, 1940 in Danville. He preceded her in death May 30, 2001. She is survived by one daughter, Kay Jones of Danville; one son, Bill (Karen) Ashley of Covington; four grandchildren: Donald (Emma) Jones of Marietta, Georgia; Pam (Thomas) Givens of Barneveld, New York; Beth (Bob) Morris of Lafayette, Indiana; Jim (Jennifer) Ashley of Oxford, Indiana; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Osborne of Riverside, California and one brother, John Overstreet of Danville. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Bertha retired from R&S Printing Company. She enjoyed flowers gardening, visiting with family and friends. Celebration of life for Bertha M. Ashley will be held at 10:00am Tuesday March 27, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Reverend James Blue officiating. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00pm Monday March 28, 2006 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Berthas name to the Adult Key Club of Danville, Illinois.
