Bertha Odessa Watson Dubree, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, slipped joyously into her Saviors arms at her daughters home in Kerrville, Texas on January 13, 2008 at the age of 99. Born to Thomas Jefferson Watson and Gertie Watts Watson on October 25, 1908 in Henning, Illinois. She graduated from Henning High School. She married Forrest Phillip Dubree on September 29, 1931 in Bismarck, Illinois. She will always be remembered for her quick wit, laughter, her green thumb with her flowers and gardens and her raspberry pie and yeast rolls. A Christian all her life, in her younger years she taught Sunday School, was President of the Womens Missionary Society and has been a member of the Free Methodist Church since 1947. Welcoming Bertha into the gates of heaven are her parents, loving husband Forrest, a son Darrell Wayne Dubree, four brothers, Roy (Helen) Watson, Lester (Helen & Wilma) Watson, Ralph (Helen) Watson, Harold (Cleo) Watson, two sisters: Viva (Abe) Falconer and Lucille Huffman. Bertha was cherished in life by daughters and son-in-laws, Jerry and Penny Bowman of Kerrville, Texas, Wanda and James Culp of Danville, a caring son and sister-in-law James and Phyllis Dubree of Danville. She was loved dearly by grandchildren, Debbie and Terry Noble, Jim and Karen Dubree, Mike and Kris Dubree, Carmen and Randy Reed, great grandchildren, Josh and Faith Dubree, Jennifer Clemmons, Alan and Ashley Dubree and great-great grandchild Trysten Clemmons. Also, step grandchildren Bill Buck and Sharon Weller, Terry Noble, Sherry Cromwick and sister Debbie and many great grandchildren and their families. A Celebration of Berthas Life will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Sunsets Community & Life Tribute Center 3550 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL (formerly Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Chapel). Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Friday evening at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Atherton Cemetery in Danville.
