Bertha I. Appleby, 94, of Danville, died at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2007, at Danville Care Center in Danville. She was born November 28, 1912 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Orrin and Faith (Kildow) Ingalls. She married Harold G. Appleby on October 21, 1945 in Beloit, WI. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1987. Bertha is survived by two sons, Doug (Karen) Appleby of Danville and Rich (Brenda) Appleby of Lawrenceville, GA; five grandchildren, Eric Appleby and Tricia Suit of Cincinnati, OH, Zack Appleby and Ainsley Nicholson-Appleby of Lilburn, GA, Shelly (Mousa) Aframian of Bexley, OH, Greg (Denise) Appleby of Dacula, GA and Angel Appleby of Georgia; and ten great-grandchildren, Knuckles, Damon, Sasha, Spencer, Sebastian, Andy, Courtney, Marty, Paige and Maya. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Bertha was a graduate of Beloit College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and worked as a librarian in Beloit, WI and Mt. Prospect, IL. She enjoyed sewing and reading, and was a fan of the Milwaukee Braves and the Chicago Cubs. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Sunsets Community & Life Tribute Center (formerly Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Chapel).
