Bernice M. Baker

Bernice M. Baker, 87, of Tilton, passed away on March 2, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign. She was born on June 8, 1928 in Griffith, IN, the daughter of Harry and Meda Hughes. She married Joe E. Baker on November 26, 1945, he passed away on October 28, 1998. Bernice will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kathie Borst, daughter-in-law, Peggy Baker, two grandchildren; Dana Burress, Jason (Ashley) Borst, six great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Alexander Baker, one sister, Margaret Green, two brothers, Harold and Virgil Hughes, grandson, Steve Borst and son-in-law, Randall Borst. Bernice loved to watch her gameshows, sew and fill out crossword puzzles. She has two cats that she leaves behind and loved dearly "Sammy" and "Boots". A celebration of life graveside service for Bernice will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston with Wade Martin officiating.
