Danville - Bernice Bernadine Pollitt, 95, passed away on March 31, 2016 at her home in Danville. She was born on April 22, 1920 in Oblong, IL, the daughter of Ira & Vora (Bonham) Short. Bernice married Clarence Pollitt in 1956 in Las Vegas, NV. Bernice is survived by 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons Paul Robert Baldwin Sr. & Richard Carpenter; daughter Margaret Cannon; brother Ray (Jennie) Short; and sister Letha (Hurshel) Craig. Bernice enjoyed collecting angel dolls and watching church on television. She was the owner and operator of Cool Spot drive-in in south Westville. Bernice lived in Fort Myers, FL for 34 years. Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 5, 2016 from 1-3pm at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with service to follow at 3pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Cherry Point Cemetery in Chrisman, IL. Memorial donations can be made in Bernice's name to the organization of the donor's choice.
