Bernhard 'Ben' Strauss

Danville- Bernhard “Ben” Strauss, 90 of Danville, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on October 7, 2014 in Danville. Ben was born on June 30, 1924 in Paxton, Nebraska to Fred and Lydia Strauss. He married Nettie Neal on April 20, 1947 and they enjoyed 67 wonderful years of marriage together. Ben is survived by his wife Nettie Strauss; his children, Deborah Strauss of Murfreesboro TN, and Teresa Strauss of Danville; sisters Carlene, Betty, and Jo Ann. Ben is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Robena Williams of Wichita KS and Eyvonne Masters of New Jersey, and his brother Walter Strauss of Englewood CO. Ben and his wife Nettie managed Lincoln Land Moving and Storage - Danville from 1966 to 1993. Ben was a proud, devoted, and active member of the First Baptist Church in Danville, and a respected member of the Danville Lions Club, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity, and Danville Industrial Club. A celebration of life will be held for Ben Strauss on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at The First Baptist Church of Danville at 2:00 pm with a visitation before the service starting at 1:00 pm. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home is in charge of arrangements. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park after the funeral service.
