Bernard Silas Jeffers

Mahomet- Bernard "Bernie" Silas Jeffers, 60, of Mahomet, formerly of Danville, died at 10:10 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at his home. He was born on January 4, 1951 in Danville to Clyde and Agnes Fritsch Jeffers. Surviving are partner Dean Mayfield of Mahomet; brother Arnold (Pam) Jeffers of Danville; two sisters, Patty Foreman of Russiaville, IN and Aggie Schmitt of Danville; 11 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul Jeffers of Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico and Dennis Jeffers of Topeka, Kansas. Bernie was a movie buff and loved old films and film stars. He also loved dogs, especially Pomeranians. Bernie had been a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church. A funeral mass for Bernard "Bernie" Jeffers will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville. Father Robert Hoffman will officiate. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to the mass, also at Holy Family. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
