Bernard J. Lattyak

Danville- Bernard J. Lattyak, 63, of Danville passed away at 11:05 PM on Monday, May 20, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 18, 1950 in Chicago, IL to Bernard and Erika Schoenberger Lattyak. He married Barbara Freese on August 5, 1972 in Atlantic, Iowa. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Jake Lattyak of Downers Grover, IL; a daughter, Dree (Lucas) Atwood of Champaign, IL; two sisters, Ellen (John) Arundel of Portage, MI and Debbie Lewis of Savannah, GA; a granddaughter, Isabella; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sandra Griffin. Bernie received his B.S.A. from the University of Iowa and always remained loyal to his alma mater. He had worked as a manager of a lumber yard, had 20 years experience at First Midwest Bank, and worked 10 years as a realtor/broker. Bernie was also a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville. A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernard Lattyak will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 24, 2013 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville. Father Greg Nelson will officiate. Private burial will take place at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien, IL on Saturday, May 25 at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, May 23, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church.
