In Loving Memory of Bernard Patrick Gordon

Bernard Patrick Gordon, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, farmer, and friend, went to be with the Lord and was reunited with his beloved wife, Vicki, on July 21, 2026, at the age of 71.

Farming wasn’t simply what Bernard did for a living, it was a part of who he was. He spent many years working on the land, and his passion for the farm ran deep. He knew the meaning of a hard day’s work, the hope that came with planting a crop, and the satisfaction of watching it grow. The farm was a place he loved, a place where countless memories were made, and a part of the legacy he leaves behind.

Bernard was also the kind of man who would help anyone who needed it. If someone needed a hand, he was there. He truly would have given you the shirt off his back without expecting anything in return. His generosity, work ethic, and willingness to help others are just a few of the things that made him the man his family and friends knew and loved.

When he could get away from the farm, Bernard loved going fishing in Canada. Those trips were something he looked forward to and gave him the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, good fishing, and the simple pleasures in life.

Bernard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vicki Lynn Gordon, as well as his parents, Maurice and Ruth Gordon. There is comfort in knowing that after being apart, Bernard and Vicki are together once again.

He leaves behind his sons, Brian and his wife, Dee, and their daughter, Sadie; and Chris and his wife, Sam, and their son, Jameson; as well as his unofficially adopted son, Pete Andermann.

Bernard’s family will remember a man whose hands knew the work of the land, whose heart was always willing to help someone else, and whose life was rooted in family, farming, hard work, and generosity.

The fields he worked will continue to grow. The fishing stories from Canada will continue to be told. And most importantly, the lessons Bernard taught by the way he lived his life will continue through his sons, his grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

A farmer’s work is never truly finished. It lives on in the land he cared for, the family he raised, and the lives he touched along the way.

Bernard will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Funeral Mass & Celebration of Life

A Funeral Mass honoring Bernard’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Rantoul, Illinois.

Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus in Rantoul, Illinois, where all are welcome to share memories, stories, and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
