Bernard Dale Deck, 87, of Danville, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He was born in Danville on March 14, 1934, the son of James and Lillie Deck.

Dale is survived by his wife of 26 years, Wanda; children, Latisha Heffernan, Darin Deck, Daphne Turner; stepchildren, Darla Hill, Kim Stanton, Chester Delp, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and special friends Denise and Larry Lauer.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Jeff Delp, and granddaughter, Jessica Stanton.

Dale graduated from Bismarck High School class of 1952 before enlisting in the United States Army. He volunteered at the Danville VA for 25 years and was active within the Vermilion Valley Vineyard Church of Danville. Dale enjoyed traveling with his wife, gardening, and remodeling houses.

A Celebration of Dales life will be held at 2pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Vermilion Valley Vineyard Church 3733 Poolside Dr. Danville, IL with Pastor Jay Sorrell officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1pm to 2pm at the church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
