Danville - Bernadine Carter, 93, of Danville passed away at 12:08 am on October 28, 2017 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL. Bernadine was born on November 10, 1923 the daughter of Marquis A. and Hazel Pearl (Gee) Parr in rural Farmer City, IL. She married Estil Newton Carter on May 12, 1946 in rural Farmer City, IL. Survivors include her husband, Estil Carter of Danville, IL, two sons, Tim (Mary) Carter of Danville, IL and Bennett (Debbie) Carter of Indianapolis, IN, one daughter, Becky Carter of Danville, IL, one sister, Joan Cox of Mt Zion, IL, as well as three grandchildren, Sara (Jon) Hill of Webb City, MO, Lauren Carter of Lebanon, IN, and Collin (Michelle) Carter of Carmel, IN. Bernadine is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, J. C. Parr and two sisters, Lucille Vaughn and Evelyn Halcomb. Bernadine graduated from Deland Township High School where she participated in the Band playing the trombone. She is a member of CrossRoads Christian Church in Danville, IL and belonged to the Womens' Club in Sidney, IL for many years. While raising her family; she also worked outside the home in various bookkeeping roles at the University of Illinois. In her free time, Bernadine enjoyed playing the piano, singing in the choir, crocheting, quilting, cooking and collecting recipes. A Celebration of Life will be held at Noon on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at CrossRoads Christian Church 3613 N Vermilion Street Danville, IL. Miles Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until Noon on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the church.
