Perrysville, Ind. - Benedict W. Cole, 84, of Perrysville, passed away at 12:14 a.m. CDT Monday, October 29, 2012 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, Illinois. He was born May 18, 1928 in Hammond, Indiana, the son of the late Edward and Mary Cole. Survivors include his special friends, Ken(Dorothy)Palmer of Perrysville, Indiana; Randy(Rose)McCarthy of Champaign, Illinois; David(Mary)Lawyles of Perrysville; John Dado of Schererville, Indiana; Bill Huszar of St. John, Indiana; Steve Palmer of Perrysville, Indiana and Julian Shoaf of Kingman, Indiana. Benedict was preceded in death by one brother. Benedict was a graduate of Purdue University. He was a retired machinist, working at several steel foundries in the Chicago, Illinois area. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Army. While in the army, Benedict was a shooter in match competition. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A.. Benedict was a avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing. Memorial services: 10 a.m. EST Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Keith Warner; Burial of cremains will be at the Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois with military honors by the Danville American Legion Post #210.
