Beatrice Ashton, 79, of Danville passed away at 10:37am September 6, 2005 at her residence. She was born May 25, 1926 in Northbrook, Illinois to the late Andy and Rose Anderson. Beatrice married Donald Ashton September 9, 1947 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Survivors include two sons Robert (Jan) Ashton of Cape Coral, Florida and Randal (Starr) Ashton of Danville, four grandchildren; Dana (Paul) Corey of Forhen, Germany, Tracy (Walter) Lorizio of San Francisco, California, Mike Ashton and Scarlett Ashton, both of Danville, and one sister Donna (Paul) Nafzinger. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Robert. Beatrice was a candy maker, owning her own candy business Candy by the Bs. She made gourmet candy (English toffee, peanut brittle and fluff). They sold to small boutique stores in the Chicago Area and Long Grove, Illinois from 1970-1985. She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Beatrice was a superb chef and professional cake decorator graduating from Antoinette Pope Cooking School and Wilton Cake Decorating School. She received the Volunteer of the Year Award, and also a 25 Year Service Award from Infant Welfare Society of Cook County. Beatrice was proud of her Scandinavian heritage and life long membership with the Lutheran Missouri Synod.
