Basil Gordon Nickle passed this life on October 15, 2019. He was 88 years old.

Born to Hershel and Ethel (Woods) Nickle January 2, 1931. He married Doris Hancock on August 30, 1952. She preceded him in death.

Also, two sons, Mark (Marilyn) Nickle of Oakwood, Larry (Vicki) Nickle of Tilton; one daughter, Sandy (Roger) Smith of Danville; six grandchildren, Tammie Decker, Timothy Bright (Leann), John Nickle, Terri (Dave) Peirson, Robin (Jim) Richardson, Richard Sutton; four great-grandchildren; Jordon, Larry and Miranda Decker, Ryan Nickle and Haileigh Bright; one great-great grandchild, Ezrah Decker; one brother, Hershel (Millie) Nickle Jr.; three sisters, Betty (Bob) Edwards, Louise (Bill) Estes, Joan (Paul) Walters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and wife, Doris.

He worked for E.S. Moore & Son Construction as a teamster and laborer. He enjoyed building and making things out of wood, also camping and fishing and riding motorcycles.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, Monday, October 21, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Services at 10 AM, Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at the funeral home with burial immediately following at Sunset Memorial Park.
