Barbara Young

Barbara A. Young, 89, of Sun Lakes, AZ passed away of cardiac arrest on February 21, 2021. She was born March 11, 1931 a daughter of Ada and Clarence Black in Decatur, IL They preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her grandson, Danial Beverly.

Barbaras survivors include her children Steve (Pam) Young of Catlin, Gordon (Janice) Young of Danville, Connie Ray of Sun Lakes, AZ, and Chris Young of Mountain Home, AR. Her sister Saundra Barrett of Miami, FL and stepsister Kay (Steve) Curry of Gold Canyon, AZ also survive Barbara along with gradnchildren Shawn (Patti) Young of Chandler, AZ, Ariel Beverly of Geneva, IL, Becky Young of Oakwood, Rachel (Mario) Estrada of Catlin, Toni (Robert) Hendricks of Oakwood, Brandi Lathrop of West Labanon, IN, several great grandchildren, and lifelong friend Sandy Brooks of Tilton.

Barbara is a former member of the National Secretaries Association and Kappa Delta Phi of Decatur. She was additionally very involved in the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling and playing the organ. She enjoyed playing cards as well. Barbara was recently awarded the honor of seeing her granddaughter, Ariel Beverly, crowned as Miss Illinois 2019 in the MAO.

Barbara was laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Danville, IL. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to www.animalleague.org.
