Barbara Weaver

Danville- Barbara Weaver, 83, of Danville, passed away on October 3, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 3, 1930 in rural Indiana, to Otto E. and Mary F. Shedlock Miller. She was married to William “Bill” Weaver on August 21, 1953. He preceded her in death in 1991. She is survived by her son Kevin (Patsy) Weaver; three daughters Kathy Camp, Lisa Lawhorn, and Lori Fetters; her brothers and sisters Evelyn Brown, Genny (Gerald) Roberts, Marilyn (Jim) Riefsteck, Loretta Riefsteck, Flora Belle (Dick) Knight, Frances Youmans, Rita (John) Shepherd, Nancy (Chet) Towner, and Rosemary (Gerald) Moss; grandchildren Melanie (Kevin) Siddens, Paul (Mandy) Weaver, Lesley (Kristi) Weaver, Pete Camp, Angie (Eric) Meyer, Keri (Mark) Colston, Devon Fetters, Morgan Fetters, Sandra Lawhorn, Joshua Lawhorn, James Lawhorn, Amber Lawhorn; and numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her sons in law Bob Camp and Jerry Lawhorn; four brothers and one sister; and her parents Otto and Mary. Barbara was a family orientated person, she loved her family. Barbara was an involved member of the Vermilion county 4-H program. She loved planning events for the young children of Vermilion County and she showed this by earning the Illinois 4-H hall of fame award in August of 2013. Barbara truly cared for these children she proved this with the 47 years of service that she had with 4-H. Barbara also enjoyed crafts; especially sewing. She would often go with her family to different craft fairs; they became a group of family crafters. Though Barbara was very busy with all of the Vermilion County events that she was either attending or hosting she would always find time to go bowling, or time to properly plant the flowers in her garden. Above all else Barbara loved her family and she will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday October 8, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 4pm-8pm on Monday October 7, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville.
