Barbara Swank

Barbra Swank, 70, of Danville, passed away at 9:45 am on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. Barbara was born on June 4, 1945 in Round Lake Park Illinois to Frances (Vansickle) & Russell Sutherland. She was married to Gerald Swank on November 24, 1986 in San Antonio, TX. She is survived by her son: Rick (Tina) Swank; daughters: Wendi (Timothy) Walsh, April Nowak, Lisa (Johona) Coffee, and Tammy (Brian) Leigh; sisters Sandy (Sutherland) and Kathy Ledoux; brothers: Robert, Frank, and Christopher Sutherland; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother Larry Sutherland. Barbara enjoyed bowling, painting, her trips to Florida, and gardening. She loved her grandkids dearly and held family above all else. She was known for her wicked sense of humor and the joy she brought to everyone's lives. She will be dearly missed by all and especially by her pets Annie, Mooch, Moo, and Ginger. A funeral will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Sunset funeral home in Danville with Pastor James Blue officiating and burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 on Monday December 21, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
