Barbara Sneyd

Barbara Ann Sneyd, 77, of Danville passed away on October 28, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Barbara was born August 3, 1930 in Copper Hill, TN; daughter of Arthur and Zula (Williams) LaMar. She married Matthew J. Sneyd on December 17, 1949 in Danville. He preceded her in death April of 1989. Surviving is her daughter Lou Ann (Steve) Magner of Williamsport, IN and her son Matthew (Rebecca) Sneyd of Geneseo, IL; four grandchildren: Megan (BJ) Grubbs of Argenta, IL, Ashley Magner of Terre Haute, IN, Ryan Magner of Speedway, IN, and Sara Jane Sneyd of Geneseo, IL.; and great grandchild Jaxson Grubbs. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father Ramon Perkins, brothers: Everett, Harold and Paul LaMar; and sister Betty Lou LaMar. Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Danville High School and had retired from Hyster where she worked as a secretary for many years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville for a number of years, and also, donated a lot of her time helping at the church. She enjoyed traveling and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family & grandchildren. A Celebration of Barbaras Life will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 2, 2007 Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville with Rev. Ted Pracz officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday evening at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL. She will be laid to rest at Resurrection Mausoleum in Danville.
