Barbara Roberts

Barbara Ann Roberts, 75, of Danville, Illinois went home to the Lord on April 27, 2010 at her residence with her family at her side. Barbara was born December 8, 1934 in Danville, Illinois daughter of Alva T. and Wilhelmina L. (Sherrow) Wilson. She married Louis E. Roberts on June 5, 1955. He survives along with three children: Kyle (Pamela) Roberts of Braidwood, Illinois, Kevin (Christina) Roberts, and Paula (Tim) Ryan both of Danville, Illinois; sister Mary (Charles) Spurgeon of Danville, Illinois; five grandchildren: Justin (Gabby) Roberts, Rachel (Ronnie) Dicken, Cassie Roberts, Kelsey Roberts, and Jordan Roberts; and great grandson Reilly Greene. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles E. Wilson. Barbara was a 52 graduate of Bismarck High School and Eastern Illinois University. She had worked for Lake View Medical Center as an accredited medical record tech. She was a member of Second Church of Christ in Danville for a number of years and was involved in The Oasis Class, Common Bond Bible Studies, and volunteered as a secretary. Barbara was an avid Bears fan. A Celebration of Barbaras Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 30, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. In lieu of flowers please make memorials in her name to The Second Church of Christ Building Fund.
