Barbara J. Peterwas, 91, of Westville, passed away at 1:55pm, May 16, 2023, at The Villas of Hollybrook, Danville, IL. She was born on October 13, 1931, in Danville, IL, the daughter of George and Sarah {Thatcher} Little. She was united in marriage to Stanley Peterwas on November 5, 1955, in Westville, until his passing on October 28, 2020. She will be dearly missed by her children, Sarah Peterwas of Bolingbrook, IL, Marysia Peterwas of Westville, Konstance Peterwas of Danville, Thomas Peterwas of Danville, and Christopher Peterwas of Elgin; her grandchildren, Sydney (Ross) Heinz, Marshall (Abby) Brown, Emma Peterwas, & Sofia Peterwas; her great grandchildren, Alivia Jean Heinz, Penelope Rose Heinz, Gracelyn K. Brown, Marshall Brown II, and Bela; and her brother, Don (Edie) Little. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley; her brothers, Larry and her sister, Dolores. Barbara worked at Woolworths and JC Penny. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and traveling. She really looked forward to shopping trips with her family. Her family was her world and cherished the time spent with her kids and grandkids. She will be forever remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A private family celebration of Barbaras life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883. She will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville. Memorial donations may be given in her name to St. Marys Rosary & Altar Society.
