Barbara Palmer, 90, of Danville IL passed away peacefully at 5:00 am on May 20, 2024 at Meadowbrook at ClarkLindsey in Urbana, IL, following a long battle with dementia.

Barbara was born on November 7, 1933 the daughter of Emmett and Verna (West) Cory in Danville, IL. She married Lee Roy Gore on May 7, 1955 and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1965. She later married Marylon Earl Palmer on July 5, 1969 and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2005.

Survivors include her children, Jerry Gore of Chicago, IL, Amy (William) Priest of Mahomet, IL, Marlin (Jill) Palmer of Danville, IL, Jacqueline Mueller of Orlando, FL, and Wendy Vickery of Orlando, FL, grandchildren, Benjamine (Debra) Gulley, Jessi (Jeff) Galbraith, Sonya (Jason) Hoag, Albert Spencer (Vanessa) Gore, Audrey Isabel Gore, Byron Wesley Gore, Mary Gretchen Gore, Hanna Jo Hall, Jared Michael Priest and Andrew Garett Priest as well as six great-grandchildren.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and two children, Julie Ann Gulley and Jeffery Wayne "Bob" Gore as well as seven siblings.

Barbara was a devoted wife and mother, and later worked at Kirlins Hallmark helping collectors find their favorite pieces. She also volunteered at her church, Weight Watchers, and was an active leader in the Band Boosters program at Danville High School . She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Central Christian Church Danville, Illinois 1101 N Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61832. Pastor Adam Harmon will officiate. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834.
