Our beloved mom, Barbara Hedrick Anderson Myers passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2025, in Mahomet, Illinois, just one day after her 93rd birthday.

Born on June 5, 1932, in Longview, Illinois, Barbara graduated from Longview High School in 1950. She worked at the University of Illinois before dedicating her life to being a homemaker and raising her five children.

Barbara was committed to her family. She married William Anderson Jr. on December 5, 1950. After their divorce, she married Robert Myers on February 26, 1989.

Barbara founded the Keenagers Kitchen Band, which played at local fairs, nursing homes, and parades. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Illini basketball and football teams and the Chicago Cubs.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren often playing dominoes with them. Barbara loved the Lord and was also a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Tuscola.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Ethel Hedrick, and her husbands, William Anderson Jr. and Robert Myers. She was also preceded in death by her dear daughters, Diane Anderson and Christina Tarter, her siblings: Marie Russell, Paul Hedrick, Juanita Livingood, Marjorie Shibley, Evelyn Wylam, Ralph Hedrick, Dee Munson, and Russ Hedrick, and her son in-law Ronnie Tarter.

She is survived by her loving children: Patricia (Noel) Hinton, Mary Beth (Tom) Shores, and Steve (Patti) Anderson. Barbara also leaves behind her grandchildren: Derek Nelson, Andy (Kelly) Shores, Luke (Rachel) Nelson, Dustin Tarter, Matthew (Briana) Shores, Colton Anderson, CJ Anderson, Emma Anderson, and Will Anderson. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Sydney Scott, Ryan Nelson, Taylor Tarter, Brooke Nelson, Amelia Shores, Bailey Tarter, Asher Shores, and Lucille Tarter, as well as her great-great-grandchildren: RaeLynne Haymon and Remington Motley. She is also survived by her sister Jean (Dick) Hoffman, sister-in-law Sandy Anderson, and many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign, Illinois. In lieu of traditional memorial gifts, the family requests that you honor Barbara's memory by enjoying time with your family and friends.

Her family wishes to thank Carle Hospice for the loving care that they provided.

Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her dedication to her family, friends, and church will continue to inspire.
