Barbara Milligan

Barbara Jean Milligan passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 71. She was born on December 19, 1954, in Oelwein, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald Nachtman (father), Ralph and Katherine Shepperd Keig. As well as her grandson Michael Fauser.

Barb graduated from St. Lukes Hospital School of Practical Nursing in 1974. She started her career at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein IA. She continued her career as a nurse for over 40 years. She was always proud to have been a nurse!

Barb enjoyed spending time with her family and loved alone quiet time. She loved to travel and was an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver. Barb was more than a mom to her own children. She was a mom to all her kids’ friends as well. Barb had an amazingly huge heart and would house and feed anyone in need. She was a blessing to so many and was never judgmental of anyone.

Barbara is survived by her husband, James Milligan, Her sisters Jo Ann Nachtman, Karen Orange, Brother-in-laws David Orange, Toby Milligan. Her children David Ruroden (Carrie Morrison), Sean (Stephanie) Fauser, Rj Milligan, Rachel (Cody) Smith; Her Grandchildren, Katelynn (Brian) Hunt, Adaya (Levi) Guenther, Kristen Fauser, Carley Fauser, Caleb Fauser, Kyla Dewitt, Jamie Lynn Milligan, Cody Smith Jr., James Smith; Two Great grandchildren, Kayden and Sophia Hunt. Nephew, Chris Orange; Niece Kimberly Orange and great niece and nephew.

Barbara Jean Milligan’s Memorial/Celebration of Life will be on January 6th, 2026, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at: Maranatha Baptist Church,3105 County Rd 1700 E, Rantoul Il 61866.

Cremation arrangements have been made at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Lux Chapel 1551 E. Grove Ave. Rantoul, IL. 61866.
