Barbara Marlene Miller

Barbara Marlene Miller, 76 of Tilton, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 10:57 PM at her home. She was born July 31, 1939 in Loda to Floyd and Vivian V. (Harper) Gillespie. She married Jim Miller and together had four children. They will all miss her dearly. Surviving are her children, Connie (Green) Miller of Tilton, James Paul (Chris) Miller of Danville, Esther Johnson of Danville, and Sarah (Monte) Smith of Tilton; grandchildren, Timothy Nevels, Amanda Clem, Brittany Johnson, Calie Johnson, Cynthia Johnson, Randy Johnson, James Johnson, Amanda Rae Rickgauer, Katherine Miller, Kristin Miller, Angela Zarn, Sangela Hord, Oushea Sandlin, and Oushi Sandlin; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cathryn A. Snider of Westville, Dianna Fuller of Missouri, and Linda K. (Wallace "Red") Jennings of Attica, IN; special friend, Paul Sellers; sons-in-law, David Green and Donald Johnson; as well as many other relatives and friends that will miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Floyd Dean, Cleon, and Sherrill Gillespie; sisters, Nyla Jean and Yvonne Gillespie; and grandson, John Robert Nevels. Barbara worked at Robin Tech in Danville as well as took care of her children at home. She was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene. Barbara loved shoes and going to McDonalds on south Gilbert Street where she had many friends. She enjoyed gardening and feeding her squirrels. Barbara loved to take pictures and has them all over her walls at home. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville. Pastor Dave Steidel will officiate. As per her wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest at Songer Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 4-6 PM prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family to assist with funds for a memorial marker.
