Barbara A. Lewis, 77, of Ridge Farm passed away at 1:42 a.m. Saturday December 11, 2010 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. She was born on September 23, 1933 in Indianola, IL the daughter of James and Goldie (Sandlin) Hoskins. She married Kenneth R. Lewis on December 9, 1950 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1999. Survivors include: one son, Larry R. Lewis of Ridge Farm; three daughters, Debbie Knight of Ridge Farm, Balinda S. (William) Barney of Fort Branch, IN, and Carla F. Nesbitt of Belgium, IL; her grandchildren, Dawn M. White, Darrin (Karla) Morgan, Brooke Craig, TJ Richards, Kelby Nesbitt, Kaylee Nesbitt, Jade Barney, Lance Barney; great grandchildren, Shaelyn, Brecken, Maddison, Haleigh, Breanna, Kaideyn, Tyliene, and one on the way; two brothers, James (Lois) Hoskins of Indianola and Ronnie (Terri) Hoskins of Georgetown; four sisters, Bernice Andruski of Indianola, Betty Ramsey of Georgetown, Deloris (Alvin) Luster of Danville, and Teresa Hoskins of Danville; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Gene W. Combs. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, and five sisters. Barbara was a loving mother and housewife. She was a three time survivor of cancer. Barbara was a member of the womens auxiliary at the VFW in Delphi, IN. In her younger years, she loved to dance. She enjoyed BINGO and mushroom hunting. She loved attending family reunions and especially loved her grandkids and great grandkids. A celebration of Barbaras life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday December 15, 2010 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home. Pastor Dustin Wells will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday December 14, 2010 at the funeral home.
