Barbara L. Dawless

Barbara L. Dawless, 87 of Danville, died and went to her Savior at 4:17pm Monday, July 1, 2019 at Hawthorne Inn-Manor Court in Danville. Barb was born April 1, 1932 in Fithian, IL, the eldest child of Oscar F. and Blanche (Calhoun) Linne. She married Stanley A. Dawless, Jr. on April 12, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. They were married for 57 years before he passed away in 2010.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Lori (David) Haller of Easton, MD; grandsons Aaron (Meisha) Haller of Madison, WI and Adam (Jessica) Haller of Buckeye, AZ and two precious great-grandchildren Haylee Marie Haller and Cameron Michael Haller. Other survivors include her sister-in-law Sharron Kimmell of Williams Bay, WI, several nieces and a nephew, and Lyle Holycross of Danville who was a faithful and loving cousin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother James and sister Carolyn and Dave McCoy who was her loving companion during their last years.

Barb worked for School District 118 for many years serving as a librarian and media resource manager at Northeast, Danville High, Edison and Meade Park Schools. She and her husband enjoyed spending time and traveling with family and friends. She was a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Barb was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A special thanks to Hawthornes Manor Court Team for the loving she received this past year.

A celebration of life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 North Vermilion Danville, IL 61834 at 3pm on Friday, July 5. Visitation will be from 2-3pm prior to the service.
