Barbara L Binkley

Barbara L. Binkley, 84, of Georgetown, passed away at 11:00pm, Monday, September 16, 2013, at Presence USMC, Danville. On December 17, 1928, she was born to Perry and Mildred {Lewis} Cohoon in Georgetown. She was first wed to John F. Hoskins. She later married Robert Binkley on March 26, 1976, who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by: her children, William E. (Christy) Hoskins of Tilton, Sue Ann (Patrick) Bowman of Ridge Farm, Myra (James) Goulding of Maricopa, AZ, Rita Henschen of Maricopa, AZ, & Melissa Hoskins of Georgetown; her step-daughters, Christy (Larry) Stratton of Morgan Hill, CA, Marla Simmonds of Westville, & Susan (Philip) Couts of Schaumburg, IL; her 22 grandchildren; her 45 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Tom (Louise) Cohoon of Georgetown, Patricia Cohoon of Chrisman, Janet Harper of Georgetown, & Jane Cline of Georgetown. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her son, John Kent Hoskins; her sister, Donna Sue Cohoon; and her son-in-law, Charles Simmonds. Barbara was a 1947 graduate of Georgetown High School. In her early years, Barbara worked at Morris-Flamingo Bobby-Pin Factory and later on, she worked at the Chicago Molding Plastic Factory in Georgetown where she retired from. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed collecting dolls & doing genealogy. She also enjoyed tending her flowers, sewing, & cake-decorating, as well as, sports. She loved her family very much and treasured the time she spent with them, especially her grandkids. A celebration of Barbaras life will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, September 20, 2013, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home prior to her service. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm. Memorials may be made in her name to Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Georgetown.
