Barbara Jean Green

URBANA- Barbara Jean Green, 64, of Urbana, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL. Barbara had a life well-lived. She was born on July 25, 1950 in Monroe, Louisiana, the daughter of Herbert and Rosie Bradley Williams. She married the love of her life, James Edward Green, Sr in 1975. He survives. Also surviving to carry on Barbaras legacy are her children, Tyanna Green of Champaign, Jamella Green of Urbana, and James Green, Jr. of Urbana; eight grandchildren, Tyneisha, Tashyia, Aaleisha, Robert, Jay, Jamaya, Jakeif, and Amil; one brother, Ruben Williams; one sister, Ola Marie Williams; and cousins, Michael Williams and Penny Williams. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Herbert Williams; and two sisters, Jannie Mae William and Elizabeth Williams. A graduate of Parkland College with a degree in nursing, Barbara truly loved children. Thus, finding her real niche working with them at Nancy Williams Daycare. She cared for many children over a number of years. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. She was full of life and a very motivated person. She attended Power House Church, and her faith and love for God was always known. In Barbaras spare time, you could find her cooking, playing solitaire, and traveling. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A visitation will be held from 11am-12pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Church of the Living God, 1109 North 4th Street, Champaign, IL.
