Barbara Jean Deckard

Danville- Barbara Jean Deckard, 85, of Danville was reunited with her husband, Myron, in heaven at 11:37 PM on Friday December 2, 2016. "Jean" was born on September 27, 1931 the daughter of Kenneth L. and Eleanor M. (Flynn) Hayworth in Toledo, OH. She married Myron Deckard on March 16, 1956 in Montezuma, IN and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2001. She is survived by her son, Tony (Sherry) Forshee of Danville, IL, one brother, Don Hayworth of Danville, IL, one sister, Margaret (Joe) Mershon of Tangier, IN, one brother-in-law, Larry (Lou) Deckard of Dayton, OH, one sister-in-law, Marilyn Deckard of Dayton, OH, four grandchildren, Tiffany (Scott) Crowder of Rural Perrysville, IN, Melissa (Billy) Johnson of Danville, IL, Toni (Mike) Starr of Westville, IL, and Farrah Powell of Danville, IL, twelve great grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three nieces, Kim, Joni, and Leann and three nephews, Mark, Larry and Brian and special friends, Charlene Fletcher and Rose Griffin both of Danville, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Myron, one infant son, Michael and one nephew, Mike. "Jean" graduated from Montezuma High School. She was an office manager of at Dr. Van Burk's dentist office, managed the Joann's Fabrics store, worked at the PollyClinic for Dr. Shea and the Chiropractor Dr. Finney. She was a member of the Second Church of Christ in Danville and a former member of the Eastern Star. "Jean" loved to garden and was the winner of one of Danville's Garden Walks. She was also an avid traveler, being fond of her cruises and bus tour adventures. She especially enjoyed going to Florida with her parents and her brother. While traveling to Madeira Beach, FL was her favorite spot, some of her trips included going to Australia, Jamaica, Alaska, Mexico, Indonesia, and Hawaii. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December, 7, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, IL. Officiating will Drew Mentzer. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
