Barbara Jean Burwash

Barbara Jean (Sewell) Burwash, 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Country Health in Gifford, Illinois. She was born on November 23, 1935, in Clinton, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Opal (Collom) Sewell, both deceased. On April 29, 1972, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was united in marriage to Donald Burwash until his passing on February 26, 1998. Barbara and her late husband owned Burwash Troy Built Tiller Sales and Service on Route One North of Danville. Their friends and family would love to stop by for coffee and conversation. She was a devoted mother, aunt, sister and cousin. She was a loving, spunky and generous person with a great sense of humor. She was a competitive card player, excellent left handed seamstress, had a green thumb and loved to have tea parties with her granddaughters. She spoiled her grandchildren and loved them dearly. She was a proud member of the Bismarck Henning School board for ten years. Barbara is survived by: her children, Tracie (Jeff) Collins of Melbourne, FL; Jeffrey Anders of Philadelphia, PA; David (Ruth) Anders of Mahomet, IL; and Rebecca (Jonathan) Blackford of Potomac, IL. Granddaughters; Brandy (Patrick) Breckenridge of Melbourne, FL; Bridget Anders of Normal, IL; and Megan Anders of Mahomet, IL; Grandsons; Samuel and Ethan Blackford of Potomac, IL. Great Grandsons; Vincent and Dominic Breckenridge of Melbourne, FL. Her beloved sister, Virginia Crumley and brother in law, Jessie Green. And multiple nieces, nephews, and adopted friends she considered her children. She was preceded in death by her sisters Ruby Stockdale, Marie Erwin, Dorothy Green, and her brothers in law Harold Stockdale, William Reed, and William Crumley. A memorial service celebrating Barbaras life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Sunset Funeral Home, Danville, with Pastor Lombardo officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, December 12, 2014, from 4pm-7pm at the funeral home. She will be buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Memorial donations may be given in lieu of flowers in Barbaras name to Bismarck Henning School District.
