Perrysville, Ind. -- Barbara J. Ping, 73, of Perrysville, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:06 p.m. CST Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. She was born March 19,1934 in Vermillion County, Indiana, the daughter of the late William R. and Francis Stingley Cook. She married Luther "John" Ping on April 21, 1955 in Covington, Indiana. He survives. Other survivors include: four daughters, Denise(Larry)James of Kingman, Indiana; Darla(Terry)Gillis of Cayuga, Indiana; Marla(Tim)Auter of Covington, Indiana and Dawn(John)Freed of Cayuga, Indiana; six grandchildren; four great grandsons; one brother, Marion(Gloria)Cook of Cayuga, Indiana. She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Barbara was a homemaker. She was a member of Clearview in Covington, Indiana. She was a 1952 graduate of Cayuga High School. Barbara was devoted to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her Lord and Savior. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Thursday, January 10, 2008 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Tim Auter; Burial: Hughes Cemetery, Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: one hour prior to services on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the funeral home.
