Barbara J Marrow

Barbara J. Marrow, 71, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Accolade Health Care in Danville, Illinois.

She was born August 29, 1953, in Brazil, Indiana, daughter of the late Chester and Helen (Tallman) Walker.

Barbara married Michael Marrow on February 17, 1984, in Danville, Illinois, and he survives.

Surviving along with her husband are her children: Cassie (Todd) Flessner and Matthew (Destiny Morgan) Marrow; her grandchildren: Allison (Danyel) Collison, Makenzie Flessner, Emily Marrow, Benjamin Flessner, Kolten Morgan and Alexander Rouse; three great-grandchildren; her sisters: Gloria (Bob) Steen and Carole (Joe) Inman; a special childhood friend: Dreama Hassanzadeh; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many kids along the way that called her “Mom”

Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Autumn Marrow; a brother: Bradley Walker; a sister: Vera Montgomery; and her father and mother-in-law Harold “Glen” and Patricia Marrow.

Barbara worked for several nursing homes in Danville over the years as a nurse’s aide. She loved all the people she worked with and people she met at Vermilion Manor, VA Illiana Healthcare System, North Logan Health (now Accolade Health) and Colonial Manor (now Goldwater Care). Barbara loved to cook, and her family always looked forward to her chicken and noodles and pumpkin rolls. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her family and grandkids, and of course, her snacks.

A Celebration of Life for Barbara will take place at 2PM on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1PM-2PM on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the funeral home.
