Barbara J. Dines

Barbara J. Dines 82 of Mitchell, IN, formerly of Danville passed away at 6:30 p.m. Friday December 14, 2007 at Mitchell Manor in Mitchell. She was born December 25, 1924 in Danville the daughter of Carl and Ilene Talbert Swanson. Barbara married James H. Dines on October 22, 1944 in Danville, he preceded her in 1974. Surviving is one daughter Jean Parsons of Bedford, IN, eight grandchildren: Heather Parsons of Bloomington, IN, Emily (Royce) Reding of Bedford, Deanna Drake, Sheri (Chris) Johnston, Jamie Lewis, Melissa Sparger all of Lafayette, IN, Kelly (Bobby) King and Michael Parsons both of Albany, GA, also twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents one brother, a daughter Karen Drake and a son in-law Mike Parsons. Barbara had worked several years as a secretary for Berkley-Davis in Danville. She was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Danville and enjoyed reading, crafts, playing cards and gardening. A celebration of life funeral service for Barbara J. Dines will be 1:30 PM Monday December 17, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. James Blue. Place of rest will be in Springhill cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be from 12:00 noon to 1:30 PM prior to the funeral on Monday at Sunset.
