Barbara Elliott

Barbara Jean Elliott, 83, of Danville passed this life Friday, February 16, 2007 at Provena USMC Logan Campus in Danville. Barbara was born March 16, 1923 a daughter of Paul R. and Ruth Knowles Bell. She married Dick Elliott on January 1, 1943 at the Central Christian Church in Danville. He survives along with three children: Richard (Lynn) Elliott, Penny Elliott, and Nancy (Steve) Skinner. Grandchildren: Shannon (Randy) Smith, Christopher (Joanne) Elliott, and Allison Elliott; Great grandchildren: Ethan & Spencer Elliott. Brothers: Dick Bell & Bill Bell. Special friends: Joyce Faulkner Lewis, Charlene Walker, and Mary Jane Stephens. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: June & Virginia; and brothers: Don, Jim, & Phil. Barbara was a graduate of Danville High Class of 40 and was a dedicated homemaker. She volunteered at the Red Cross, belonged to the Womens Club, and served as a Brownie leader. Barbara enjoyed playing contract bridge, flowers, quilting, dancing, and was an avid golfer, but most of all loved her family. A Celebration of Barbaras life and Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Sunsets Community & Life Tribute Center, 3550 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61832 with Pastor Jim Blue officiating. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Parks Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association and/or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
