Barbara E. Lenhart

Barbara E. Lenhart, affectionately known as Aunt B, 91, of Oakwood, passed away at 4:40pm, Monday, November 29, 2010, at her home. She was born on August 4, 1919, in Oakwood, IL, the daughter of James and Blanche {Kincaid} Casteel, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Harry Lenhart until his passing in 1983. She is survived by: her niece, Zane (Hugh) Walker of Champaign; her great nephew, Sean (Jennifer) Fackler of Champaign; her great niece, Shannon (John Atwood) Fackler of Danville; and her great-great nieces, Emily & Lauren Fackler. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jo Franklin. Aunt B was a proud Veteran of the US Army serving during WWII as a Sergeant. She had owned and operated the Starlight Inn for over 10 years and was a licensed beautician working out of her home. She also farmed with her husband, Harry, in the Georgetown area. Aunt B was a member of the Oakwood Christian Church and the Georgetown American Legion Dornblaser Post #203. As per Barbaras wishes, cremation rites will be performed at Sunsets onsite crematory under the immediate direction of Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, A Life Celebration Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, December 11, 2010, at the funeral home with Rick Fortier officiating. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
