Barbara Dee {Nichols} Richardson, 81, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 10:55am, Friday, October 22, 2010, at her home. She was born on April 12, 1929, in Humrick, IL, the daughter of Clifford and Ethel {Banta} Nichols, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Sanford Richardson on January 7, 1947, in Newport, IN, until his passing on August 10, 1970. She is survived by: her children, Richard (Linda) Richardson of Kingman, IN, & Wanda Richardson of Ridge Farm; her grandchildren, Amy (Michael) White of St. Louis, MO, Corey (Nina) Meeks of Georgetown, Sandi (Sean) Doggett of Georgetown, Michael (Chris) Meeks of Paris, IL, & Karen Murphy of Danville; her 12 great grandchildren; her two great-great grandchildren; her brother, Jimmie Nichols of Ridge Farm; and her sisters, Thelma Galyen of Bedford, IN, & Sarah Wheeler of Danville. She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Barbara was an active member of the Ridge Farm Fire Department Womens Auxiliary. She enjoyed painting ceramics & figurines, sewing, cooking, & completing jig-saw puzzles. Most of all, Barbara loved her family and grandkids, as well as, friends. A celebration of Barbaras life will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, a Life Celebration Home, in Georgetown with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 5pm to 8pm, Monday, October 25, 2010, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Crown Hill Cemetery of Ridge Farm.
