Barbara Curl

Barbara L. Curl, age 81, of Champaign, passed away at 7:05 am on Friday, February 16, 2006 at Champaign Manor Care in Champaign. She was born May 24, 1925 in Danville the daughter of Sherman William and Elgia (DeVoss) Givens. Barbara married Ray S. Curl on September 4, 1953 in Danville. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1996. She is survived by one sister-in-law and eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Bill and Gorman; two sisters: Pauline and Francis and one infant child: Madell. Barbara worked for Laughoff in Danville until Ray and she moved to St. Louis in 1968. She then worked as an administrative assistant at The Tire Mart in St. Louis for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and reading. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in St. Louis. Barbara was a prior member of the First Presbyterian Church in Danville.
