GEORGETOWN - Barbara Ann (Baber) Carrigan, 79, of Georgetown, passed away at 5:15pm, Thursday, December 13th, 2007, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. She was born on March 2nd, 1928, in Evansville, IN, the daughter of Lloyd M. and Irene (Wharton) Baber, both deceased. She was wed to Clyde Gene Carrigan on April 24th, 1949, at First Presbyterian Church in Danville, IL. He survives of Georgetown. Other survivors include: her cousin, Ronnie Gold of Evansville; her niece, Diane Smith of Mississippi; her nephews, Dennis (Juli) Gardner of Ridge Farm, Thomas Gardner of Georgetown, Shannon Carrigan of Joliet, & AJ Todd of Mississippi; her niece-in-law, Dana Carrigan of Georgetown; and her many special friends. Her three children, Carla Ann, Brad Lee, and on stillborn child, two brothers-in-law - Dale & Paul Carrigan, and her nephew - Don Carrigan, preceded Barbara in death. Barbara was a graduate of Danville High School. She was a member of the Elks and of the Dornblaser Post 203 American Legion Womens Auxiliary. She was a great volunteer for the Georgetown Fair for many years. She was a member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church. She was happily married to Clyde for 58 years. A celebration of Barbaras life will be at 10:00am, Monday, December 17th, 2007, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West Street, Georgetown, IL. Pastor Jennie Chin will officiate. A visitation will be 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Sunday, December 16th, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given in her name to the American Cancer Society, 2509 S Neil St, Suite #1, Champaign, IL 61820.
